Winner of the Big Brother Naija Season 7, Ijeoma Otabor, better known as Phyna, has expressed regret over the inability to get justice for her late younger sister, Ijeoma Otabo, crushed by a Dangote truck driver.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that Phyna broke down in tears in a video shared on Instagram while responding to a comment that accused her of neglecting her late sister’s family.
The critics wrote, “It was ur greed, nobody lied against u, stop all this emotional blackmail, u were too greedy u didnt care about ur sister’s welfare.”
Responding tearfully, Phyna said she and her family had continued to face harsh judgment since the incident became public.
The reality TV star also said she will never forgive herself for how the case turned out and for the lies people told about her.
She said, “Pray that someone people believe quickly does not lie against you. Just pray because once the world believes that person and the wrong story about you, even your pain would not matter to them anymore.
“My sister would have been 25 tomorrow but instead of celebrating her, we’ve had to watch people judge us based on lies. If you still have people who know your heart, appreciate them.
“Happy heavenly birthday to her tomorrow. I will never forgive myself that I could not get justice and that someone lied against me and turned the case to dust. My sister deserved peace, love and justice.”
Phyna also opened up about a family crisis, revealing that she began having disagreements after she refused some of their demands.
She added, “Nobody was interested in me investing. Everybody wanted something.
“The moment I started saying no, I ran into problems. My first no was what carried that man (her father) to Vanguard. I said no, I cannot buy this particular roof because it is too expensive daddy. Let us buy another roof. He went to Vanguard to lie against me.
“The moment I started saying no was when I noticed that money was going down. “I wish I could turn back the hands of time. Immediately they announced me as the winner, instead of shouting my daddy and mummy, I should have just run because at the end of the day, I’m the one taking everything.
“I’ve been the bad person since I was a child. It is not as if they ever saw anything good in me. I don’t know how God blessed me and I still remembered them.”
