Nigerian skitmaker and actor Woli Arole has sent a message to actresses.
In the spirit of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, Arole pokes fun at their outfits, comparing them to parachutes. He warned them against sewing clothes on credit and admonished them to operate within their budget.
Woli told those uninvited not to feel discouraged. The actor noted how there would be pressure everywhere and further admonished those who rented their clothes to return them after use.

Actress, don’t go and sew clothes on credit o.
Do as you are, operate within your budget.
If dem no invite you, he no mean say you never make am ooo.

Two years ago, a Nigerian fashion designer had called out Toyin Abraham and Annie Idibia over an alleged unpaid debt. The designer made them aware that her patient was running out of them, as she questioned how they could be with someone who had millions and still felt so reluctant.
Similarly, in 2022, actress Dorcas Fapson was dragged online over an unpaid debt. The media personality had ordered a dress at the last hour and paid half the money. Unfortunately, Dorcas wasn’t impressed with the dress, and refused to stick to the end of her bargain as she blocked all contact forms with the designer when he requested his balance.
Infuriated by her action, the designer took to his Instagram page to drag the disc jockey, and Dorcas had fired back, calling for anyone close to him to slap him.
A Nigerian designer called out Ghanaian actress Nana Akua Addo for not giving her credit for her AMVCA outfit. She claimed she designed the outfit after the Ghanaian actress excluded her from her creative styling team and instead tagged her Ghanaian team. According to reports online, Ezinne was allegedly asked to choose between being tagged and receiving N400,000, and she chose the latter, but begged to be supported, as it was her first-ever AMVCA.
Also, actress Eniola Ajao and celebrity stylist CEO Luminee were called out for plagiarism by an Ivorian stylist over her outfit to a movie premiere. The Ivorian stylist frowned at the reproduction of her work without any permission or given a mention or credit for the outfit and claimed that CEO Luminee didn’t respond when they reached out to her.
