Britney Spears is addressing her fans after resolving her reckless driving case.
Days after the singer pleaded guilty through her attorney to a reduced “wet reckless” charge tied to her March arrest in Ventura, Calif., Spears shared a reflective Instagram message about growth.
“Went to the pet store with my kids and look at what a beautiful baby snake this is,” Spears, 44, wrote alongside a video of herself holding a small snake on May 9. “Snakes are symbolic of good health, higher consciousness, and pure luck…”
The singer continued, “I’m so damn thankful to my friends and so many new beautiful people I have met through my spiritual journey … all a blessing in disguise. I still have to learn how to be kind to myself and the way I speak to myself.”
Spears did not directly address the case in the post, though her comments arrived days after her sentencing.
The pop star received 12 months’ probation, one day in jail credited as time served and a $571 fine. She must also complete a three-month DUI program and attend regular mental health treatment appointments.
Her attorney, Michael A. Goldstein, said after the hearing, “Through her plea today, Britney has accepted responsibility for her conduct.”
He added that Spears was “grateful for the outpouring of support she has received.”
