Senator Aminu Tambuwal has decided not to run for another term as the lawmaker representing Sokoto South Senatorial Zone.
Following his withdrawal, Amb. Hon. Faruku Malami Yabo, MFR, has been endorsed as the consensus candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Politics Nigeria recalls that Tambuwal was a presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2023 general elections but stepped down in favour of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
In a related development, former Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Manir Muhammad Dan’iya, who served under Tambuwal, has emerged as the ADC consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 elections in Sokoto State.
