APC Presidential Primary: Tinubu Sweeps Poll in Benue – Alia

President Bola Tinubu has on Saturday swept the poll at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary in Benue state with 375,507 votes.

Announcing the result at the state collation centre in Makurdi, the state’s governor, Hyacinth Alia, said Tinubu defeated his only challenger, Stanley Osifo, who scored 779 votes.

Alia, who served as the election’s collation officer, explained that the President won in all the 23 local government areas of the state.

He said all procedures guiding the conduct of the election were duly followed during the exercise.

Following the announcement of the result, Alia affirmed its accuracy and declared Tinubu winner of the poll.

“I, Hyacinth Alia, State Collation Officer, hereby certify that the information contained in this form represents a true, correct and accurate record of the summary of results from the local governments in Benue, and I so sign it.

“So, by virtue of the votes cast, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged as the winner in Benue,” he said.
