The All Progressives Congress (APC) has begun collation of results from its nationwide presidential primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections.

PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that the collation exercise is taking place at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.

Voting in the direct primary was held on Saturday, May 23, across the 8,809 wards in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The APC adopted the direct primary system for the exercise, allowing registered party members to vote for their preferred presidential aspirant.

The party said the process was aimed at deepening internal democracy and encouraging grassroots participation.

The exercise marked a departure from the delegate-based system often associated with internal party disputes.

The final collation is being supervised by a seven-member Presidential Primary Election Committee chaired by former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim.

Other members of the committee include Senator Ken Nnamani, Grace Titi Laoye-Ponle, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara and Idris Wada.

Sanusi Musa is serving as secretary of the committee.

Governors, state party chairmen and designated collation officers are already at the venue for the exercise.

As coordinators of the process in their respective states, the governors are expected to present certified results from their states to the Anyim-led committee.

The collation is expected to determine the APC presidential flagbearer for the 2027 general elections.
