ADC Presidential Primaries: Vote for Merit not Ethnicity, Religion; Amaechi Tells Party Members

Former Minister of Transportation and presidential aspirant, Rotimi Amaechi, has charged members of African Democratic Congress (ADC) against voting based on ethnicity or religion in the party’s ongoing presidential primary election.

Amaechi gave the charge while addressing newsmen after casting his vote at his ward in Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State on Monday.

NPO earlier Reported the arrival of the former Rivers governor at Port Harcourt International Airport ahead of the election.

While being received by leaders of the party, Amaechi proceeded to Ubima where he was received by mammoth crowd.

The ex-minister who lauded the conduct of the election in the community charged the ADC members to vote based on merit at the ongoing election.

‘In the community, everybody was involved. Agents were involved and they did the counting.

“We have finished successful. I will urge the ADC members to vote for merit. not ethnicity or religion.’ He said.

Recall that Amaechi had purchased the presidential nomination interest form and also cleared by the ADC screening committee to contest in the primaries.
