The Adamawa State House of Assembly has received the name of Leader Andrew Leneke, from Demsa LGA, for screening and confirmation as commissioner.
Leader is a lawyer and a foremost Master of Ceremony, MC, who coordinates elite ceremonies around the state.
Leader’s name was sent to the Assembly by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri in a letter addressed to the Assembly and read on Tuesday at the day’s plenary presided over by the Speaker, Bathiya Wesley.
After presenting the letter at the chamber, Bathiya directed the Clerk to invite the nominee to appear for screening on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
DAILY POST reports that the Ministry of Health is currently without a commissioner.
Recently, Dr Felix Tangwami resigned over his aspiration to run for another political office.
It remains unclear whether Leneke will head the health ministry if he gets cleared.
