Abducted Principal, Teacher of Oyo School Beg FG to Secure Release in Heartbreaking Video

Mrs. Rachel Alamu, the abducted principal of Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo state has called for the Federal Government’s intervention in securing her release alongside other kidnapped staff and students.

NPO Reported that suspected gunmen had on Friday stormed the school, killing a teacher and a motorcyclist before abducting several students and staff.

The assailants would also advance to Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Yawota community where several pupils and their teachers were abducted.

Speaking in a heartbreaking video recorded by the kidnappers and shared on X on Sunday, Alamu begged the Federal Government, the Oyo State Government, and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to come to their rescue.

She disclosed that the gunmen carried out the attack around 9:30am on Friday abducting her and undisclosed number of staff, students, and some other people.

“I am Mrs. Alamu. I am the principal of Community High School in Oyo State. On Friday, around 9:30, we were att@cked by a certain group of people, and a good number of us were abducted.

“The staff and the students as well, and we have been here since Friday.

“I am making this video to ask for help from everyone, starting from the Federal Government of Nigeria, and the Oyo State Government, the Christian Association of Nigeria, and all well-meaning Nigerians, that they should come to our help and settle these things peacefully, so that our lives will not be lost,” Mrs. Alamu said.

Also captured in a separate video was a visibly distressed teacher abducted at the Baptist Nursery and Primary School.

The lady who identified herself as Temitope Amori also called for Tinubu and Makinde’s intervention.

“I am Temitope Amori. I’m from Ibadan. Yesterday, armed people came to our school. The teachers and the children are all here.

“We need help from the Federal Government and the State Government. Both the church and the community, we need your help. Please help us so that these people will release us.

“We need help from our President Tinubu, Engineer Seyi Makinde, and all Nigerians.” She said.

According to reports, the kidnappers are currently trapped within the Oyo National Park where they are suspected to have held the abducted people hostage.

The Oyo state Government, in a statement issued on Saturday, disclosed that security operatives have successfully surrounded the area, restricting the suspects’ movement and preventing possible escape into Kwara State or other neighbouring locations.
