CHAIRMEN of the 16 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), and APC LGA chairmen in Lagos East Senatorial District have unanimously endorsed the Senator representing Lagos East, Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, for another term in office ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement, which underscores the growing confidence in Senator Abiru’s leadership and performance, was conveyed during a meeting of council chairmen and 16 APC LGA chairmen in the senatorial district.
On behalf of the council chairmen, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and Chairman of Conference 57, praised Senator Abiru for what he described as exemplary representation, and consistent delivery of democratic dividends to the people of Lagos East.
Olowa said the chairmen were proud of the senator’s achievements in the National Assembly, particularly his interventions in infrastructure development, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, economic support initiatives, and people-oriented programmes across the district.
According to him, Senator Abiru has continued to distinguish himself through purposeful leadership, competence, and a people-oriented approach to governance.
“We are very proud of your remarkable stewardship and outstanding performance in the Senate. Your commitment to the growth and development of our district is visible and commendable. You have demonstrated capacity, integrity, and effective representation, and without doubt, you deserve another term in office,” Olowa declared.
Similarly, at a separate session with the Senator, All Progressives Congress, APC, Local Government Chairmen in the 16 LGAs/LCDAs, equally passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of Senator Abiru, endorsing him for another term at the Senate.
On behalf of his colleagues, Akin Mejolagbe, APC LGA chairman, Bariga LCDA, declared uttermost support for the Senator, stressing that the lawmaker had performed remarkably well to earn re-election.
Responding, Senator Abiru expressed profound appreciation to the council chairmen and APC LGA chairmen for the overwhelming show of confidence and support, describing the gesture as humbling.
The senator described the local government chairmen, and the party structure at the LGA level as strategic partners in grassroots development, noting that the synergy between the National Assembly and local councils has significantly enhanced the delivery of developmental projects and people-centred initiatives across Lagos East.
“We are truly partners in progress. Together, we have continued to complement one another in delivering impactful projects and improving the quality of life of our people across the district. As we move forward, we will further strengthen this collaboration in the collective interest of Lagos East,” Abiru said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation, responsive leadership, and sustained developmental interventions across the 98 wards in the senatorial district. He urged the council chairmen and the party leaders to support all flag bearers of the party, starting from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
