The Taminu Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, says former President Goodluck Jonathan’s running for presidency is not his ambition but a call from Nigerians.
National Publicity Secretary of the faction, Ini Ememobong, stated this on Saturday while interacting with newsmen after the PDP camp declared Jonathan as its presidential candidate in absentia.
Speaking, Ememobong said, “At a time like this, Goodluck Jonathan’s running is not his ambition but a call from the people for him to run.
“The next four years must be four years of healing, restoration, patience and nation building, and who is going to do that? The man best suited to do that is Goodluck Jonathan.”
Meanwhile, Jonathan has not made any public comment as to whether he is contesting or not.
