All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Kwara State, Abdulmajeed Abdulfatai, has cried out over the alleged deliberate removal of his name from the list of aspirants for the forthcoming State House of Assembly elections in the Ilorin Central (Mangaji Ngeri) constituency.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that in a viral video online, Abdulfatai, known as a loyal supporter and praise singer of both the APC and the Kwara State Government, was seen lamenting and weeping uncontrollably.
Abdulfatai, who spoke in Yoruba, described the development as injustice and betrayal within the party.
The visibly distressed aspirant said he was shocked to hear that his name was not recognised among those who had indicated interest in contesting for the Kwara State House of Assembly seat representing Mangaji Ngeri constituency.
Recounting how he discovered his name was excluded from the list submitted by party officials, Abdulfatai repeatedly questioned why it had been removed despite his sacrifices and loyalty to the party over the years.
Meanwhile, a chieftain of the APC, Ciroma Almajiri Joseph, has withdrawn from the Kaduna South Senatorial District race ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Joseph, popularly known as Hasken Southern Kaduna, also declared his support for the incumbent lawmaker, Senator Sunday Marshall Katung.
The APC stalwart made this known in a statement dated April 20, 2026, noting that his decision came after extensive consultations with family members, political associates, community leaders, and supporters across the district.
He explained that the move was guided by the need to promote unity within the party and ensure political stability in Southern Kaduna.
Joseph said his withdrawal was driven by patriotism and political maturity, as well as his desire to sustain cohesion within the APC.
