North Korea has launched another ballistic missile, marking its seventh weapons test of the year and triggering an immediate security response from South Korea.
Seoul’s national security authorities convened an emergency meeting following the launch, which was detected heading eastward, according to the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Officials confirmed that intelligence agencies from South Korea and the United States are now working together to analyze the missile’s specifications, including its range and flight trajectory.
The test comes shortly after previous launches earlier this month, including one that was assessed as a failure after disappearing from radar during the early phase of flight.
The repeated launches signal continued escalation on the Korean Peninsula, keeping regional security tensions on high alert.
