In a major breakthrough against criminal elements, troops of Operation Whirl Stroke have successfully rescued two kidnapped victims in Benue State.

The daring operation, executed around 3:50 a.m. on April 15, 2026, took place in Kyado, Ukum Local Government Area, following sustained intelligence-led offensives.

The victims, identified as Sylvester Micheal Ebuka and Chidinma Chikwentu, had earlier been abducted in separate attacks earlier this month.

Military sources revealed that intense pressure mounted on bandits’ hideouts forced the kidnappers to abandon their captives and flee.
Both victims were rescued unharmed.

Commending the troops, the Force Commander, Major General Moses Gara, praised their resilience and professionalism, stressing that the operation highlights the growing success of intelligence-driven military strategies.

He assured residents that operations will continue until criminal elements are completely flushed out, while urging the public to support security agencies with credible information.
