WIFE of the Anambra Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has expressed satisfaction with the performance of participants in the first batch of the “Anambra Skilled Ladies Training Programme.”
She described the initiative as a catalyst for self-reliance and entrepreneurial growth among women.
Soludo made this known in a statement issued on Saturday in Awka, noting that the five-week intensive training had equipped no fewer than 100 young women with practical and marketable skills.
The News Agency of Nigeria NAN recalls that on March 13, Soludo inaugurated the programme under her Healthy Living Initiative to empower 100 young women with practical, high-demand vocational skills.
The programme seeks to dismantle professional stereotypes and promote women’s economic independence.
According to Soludo, the programme has proven to be a “game changer,” bridging employment gaps, promoting innovation, and enhancing women’s participation in the economy.
“It has been five weeks of intensive practical classes for the Anambra Skilled Ladies Programme.
“What thrills me most is the passion, dedication, and meticulousness these women have demonstrated in every task,” she said.
“I am pleased with the progress recorded so far; soon, these participants will graduate with the quality skills and experience that will transform their lives,” she added.
Soludo expressed optimism about the future of the beneficiaries, describing them as “real change-makers” capable of driving positive transformation in society.
She added that the training covered key technical areas such as solar and CCTV installation and repairs, air conditioning maintenance, tricycle keke repairs, carpentry, and painting.
The governor’s wife reiterated her commitment to initiatives that promote women’s empowerment and sustainable livelihoods in the state . NAN
