Peter Okoye, known as Mr P and former member of the defunct music duo, P-Square, has changed his official date of birth.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that he announced in a tweet that his new birthday is now November 30 instead of the earlier date of November 18.
He also said he will no longer accept gifts or messages on the old date and wants celebrations to now hold on the new date.
He wrote: “Please note that I will not be accepting any messages or gifts on that day. My birthday will now be celebrated on November 30th. This is a personal decision, and I truly appreciate your understanding. Thank you all.”
This development comes amid his ongoing disagreement with his twin brother, Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, and their elder brother Jude, who also managed the group.
The disagreement between them has been going on for some time and has affected their family relationship.
Peter in an old interview said he is no longer in close contact with his brothers and feels the bond between them has broken down.
“We are no longer family at this point! Family is blood-related, but the real family is loyalty. Like I said, ‘don’t let family be the reason you’re drowning in silence.
“I did for over 20 years. And it almost cost me everything. But now I know better: love doesn’t manipulate, loyalty doesn’t betray, and family doesn’t steal from you. Family that steals and breaks you isn’t family at all.”
