The Ondo State Government has reassured residents of adequate and reinforced security arrangements across the state ahead of the Easter celebration, affirming its readiness to forestall any breakdown of law and order and ensure the safety of lives and property.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Idowu Ajanaku, the government said comprehensive and coordinated security measures had been activated statewide under the leadership of Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free festive period.
While congratulating Christian faithful on witnessing another Easter, the government stressed that safeguarding residents remains its topmost priority.
It added that security agencies have been strategically deployed across the state, with enhanced surveillance and intelligence gathering to forestall any breach of peace.
According to the statement, the proactive measures are designed to guarantee a calm and secure environment for both residents and visitors throughout the celebration.
The government, however, urged citizens to remain vigilant and security-conscious, advising them to promptly report any suspicious movement or activity to relevant security agencies.
It noted that community cooperation is critical in sustaining the prevailing peace and security across the state.
It further called on residents to continue to pray for the peace, unity, and progress of Ondo State and the country at large, urging support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as it pursues the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Reiterating its resolve, the government said it would spare no effort in maintaining law and order before, during, and after the Easter festivities.
It, therefore, wished all Christian faithful a safe, peaceful, and fulfilling Easter celebration.
