Senator representing Ogun West, Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu and key leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his emergence as the party’s consensus governorship candidate in Ogun State.
PrimeTimes Nigeria recalls that the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, made the announcement during a stakeholders meeting on Monday.
Adeola was adopted during a strategic caucus meeting held at the party’s secretariat on Abiola Way, Abeokuta.
In a post shared on his Facebook page on Tuesday, Adeola described the endorsement as a humbling honour and said it will not be taken for granted.
He also acknowledged the support of Governor Abiodun, elder statesman, Segun Osoba, and other party stakeholders, noting that their guidance and confidence played a key role in his emergence.
Senator Yayi further pledged his total commitment to the ideals of the APC and to ensure a successful campaign to enable them emerge victoriously in 2027.
He said, “I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed leader and President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the progress of our great party and nation.
“I am equally grateful to our leaders in Ogun State, His Excellency Dapo Abiodun, CON, and Baba Akinrogun Segun Osoba for their guidance, support, and confidence in my capacity to serve.
“My sincere appreciation also goes to all our stakeholders, party leaders, and faithful members of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State for finding me worthy to emerge as the consensus candidate for the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
“This honour is deeply humbling, and I do not take it for granted. I pledge my total commitment to the ideals of our party and to the service of the good people of Ogun State. Together, we will work tirelessly to build on our achievements, ensure a successful and united campaign, and emerge victoriously in 2027.”
