A former Inspector-General of Police and gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Mohammed Adamu Abubakar, has picked up the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms for the 2027 election.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that a group of youths purchased and picked up the APC Nasarawa governorship nomination forms for the former Police boss on Tuesday ahead of the APC primaries.

Meanwhile, Adamu has declared that he has no intention of dumping the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He also declared that he is not dumping his interest in the 2027 governorship race for Nasarawa State despite the endorsement of Senator Aliyu Wadada by Governor Abdullahi Sule as his preferred governorship candidate under the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Addressing his supporters, Adamu urged them to disregard suggestions that he would dump the APC for another party due to Wadada’s endorsement.
He vowed to remain in the APC and contest to the end.
The former IGP also recently accused the party of planning to sabotage the forthcoming primaries through ward executives.
Speaking through the Chairman of Counter and Mobilisation of his campaign team, Isah Nathaniel, on Monday in Lafia, Abubakar alleged that there was a coordinated scheme to pressure ward executives across the 147 wards of the state into endorsing a preferred aspirant ahead of the 2027 elections.
The gubernatorial aspirant stated that it is not party organisation but “political manipulation in its crudest form,” lamenting that what is being disguised as coordination is, in truth, “a brazen attempt to hijack the will of party members and impose a predetermined outcome.”
The allegation came a few hours after the State Chairman of the party, Aliyu Bello, promised that the leadership would provide a level playing field for all aspirants during the primaries.
