EDEL football club of Awka, a Nigerian national league division 3 clubside, beat Amanda FC of Orlu 2-0 to lift the Anambra President Federation Cup.
The final match was played at the NEROS stadium, Nanka, Anambra state on April 26, 2026 before football lovers.
Edel FC played scintillating football, dominating the match, and restricting Amanda FC to their own side of the pitch in the first half.
Earlier in the match, Edel FC missed a sitter, which elicited hisses from their supporters. Some minutes later, Edel FC earned a penalty kick, which Solomon Ugwu sporting jersey number 8 played sloppily. And it was saved by Amanda FC’s goalkeeper.
Edel FC could have put the game beyond Amanda FC in the first half but for their heart-breaking poor finishes.
Edel FC later found the net after registering countless misses in the first half. Thereafter, they put the game beyond Amanda FC with another goal in the second half to seal their victory.
Earlier, the Game Changer FC of Awka beat the hard-fighting Obosi United 2-0 to emerge third in the competition.
Edel FC of Awka, the winner of the competition; and Amanda FC, the runner-up in the competition will represent Anambra state in the national F.A cup.
The Anambra President Federation Cup competition was sponsored by NEROS Pharmaceuticals. And the matches were played at NEROS stadium, Nanka, Anambra state.
