THE Chanchaga Local Government Council in Niger has distributed school bags to primary school pupils to encourage enrolment and support basic education in the area.

Dr Mustapha Jibril, Chairman of the council, said on Friday that the initiative underscored the administration’s commitment to improving access to learning materials and promoting school attendance.

Jibril appreciated Alh. Sadiq Yusuf, Deputy Chief of Staff to the governor, for donating the school bags.

He said that the items were distributed through the Vice Chairperson of the council, Hajiya Safiya Nasidi, to pupils who resumed on the official reopening day.

According to him, selected primary schools across the Local Government Area (LGA) were engaged to compile lists of pupils who returned to classes to ensure fairness and transparency in the distribution process.

The chairman also commended Gov. Umaru Bago for his sustained commitment to the development of education in the state, pledging to sustain programmes that would enhance learning outcomes.

Earlier, Alh. Babadoko Tako, the Council Secretary, commended parents for sending their children back to school promptly.

He urged teachers to resume academic activities without delay to ensure a seamless start to the new term. NAN
