Since the arrest of Sean “Diddy” Combs, Yung Miami has faced backlash, but she is now opening up about the fallout in a brand-new interview.
“It was a lot,” she said to Charlamagne Tha God. “I lost deals, I lost relationships, I lost money.”
Miami, whose real name is Caresha Brownlee, said the backlash even affected her business deals. “People distanced themselves from me,” she shared. “It affected my brand and my personal life.”
Despite the criticism, she stood by her perspective. “I can only speak on what I experienced,” she said. “The man I knew was different.”
Yung Miami shocked fans when she penned a letter of support of Diddy ahead of sentencing. “I wrote that for the person I knew,” she said. “I felt like he had changed.”
Miami made it clear she was not afraid of scrutiny tied to the case. “I have nothing to hide,” she said. “I’m always going to stand on what I believe.”
Still, she acknowledged the cost. “It came with consequences,” she said. “But I had to be real with myself.”
“I’m moving forward,” Miami added.
Diddy was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution under the Mann Act and sentenced to 50 months in prison, with a projected release date in 2028.
