Reacher star Alan Ritchson will not face charges following a dispute with a neighbor that led to a police investigation in Tennessee.
Authorities confirmed the case has been closed after determining the Reacher star acted in self-defense.
“After reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, authorities determined that no criminal charges will be pursued,” Brentwood Police Captain Steven Pepin said. “Mr. Ritchson’s actions were found to be in self-defense.”
The incident involved a confrontation with neighbor Ronnie Taylor, who admitted he initiated physical contact. “I did push him,” Taylor said. “Then it escalated quite quickly from there.”
Police reviewed multiple angles of the altercation, including extended footage that showed how the situation unfolded. According to officials, Ritchson attempted to disengage before the encounter turned physical.
Pepin also confirmed Ritchson chose not to pursue charges.
“Although a potential reckless endangerment charge was considered, Mr. Ritchson declined to pursue charges,” he said. “The case is now closed, and no further action will be taken.”
The situation began as a dispute over a motorcycle in the neighborhood. For now, authorities say the matter is resolved.
