A heated legal battle between Kim Kardashian and Ray J is getting messier by the minute.
In newly filed court documents, Ray J pushed back after Kardashian claimed his public remarks could harm her effort to become a licensed attorney.
The reality star and business mogul previously expressed concern that comments suggesting she and her mother, Kris Jenner, were under federal investigation might affect her standing with the California State Bar.
Ray J dismissed that argument in his response.
“For this ever to be an issue, Kardashian must first pass the bar exam, something she admittedly has not yet done,” he said in the filing. He also questioned how “vague, third party allegations” made during interviews and on a Twitch stream could threaten her future legal career.
Kardashian has been open about her pursuit of a law license, explaining in earlier documents that the State Bar conducts a “comprehensive background investigation” that reviews claims of misconduct.
“I’m worried that I would need to address these entirely false accusations and that they might be taken seriously,” she said.
Jenner called the allegations “a horrific lie.”
Kardashian and Jenner sued Ray J for defamation in October. He later filed a countersuit, arguing that prior agreements were violated. Both cases remain ongoing.
