Ray J says he is ready to call a key witness as his legal dispute with Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner over the release of the 2007 sex tape continues to get messier by the day.
The singer’s attorney, Howard King, says the team is prepared to bring in Vivid Entertainment executive Steve Hirsch if Kardashian and Jenner keep denying any involvement in arranging the tape’s release. According to King, Hirsch could provide direct insight into what happened behind the scenes at the time.
“If they continue denying it, we’re prepared to call Steve Hirsch to testify,” King said, adding that Hirsch would have knowledge about the negotiations tied to the tape’s distribution.
The development comes after Kardashian and Jenner filed sworn declarations stating they did not orchestrate or participate in a plan to shoot, sell, or release the tape titled “Kim Kardashian Superstar.” King strongly disputes those claims, arguing that their statements under oath are inaccurate.
She also claimed that Ray J’s allegations could jeopardize her chances of building a credible legal career. Ray J fired back in a filing, arguing that she has yet to pass the California Bar exam.
“Making statements under oath that aren’t true can have serious legal consequences,” said King.
The dispute stems from a lawsuit filed by Kardashian and Jenner in October, alleging defamation against Ray J. Ray J later filed a countersuit, alleging that they had violated a prior agreement restricting public discussion of the tape.
