Ray J’s ex-girlfriend Shila Hasanoff is speaking out after police were called to the singer’s Los Angeles home over the weekend.
In a statement shared to Instagram, Hasanoff denied reports that the situation involved domestic violence. “I want to make one thing very clear: Ray J has never put his hands on me,” she said, adding that the entertainer has been under “a lot of pressure lately.”
According to Hasanoff, tensions escalated when she feared Ray J might hurt himself. She claimed she slapped him while trying to stop him from jumping from a ledge. Hasanoff also alleged he has struggled emotionally amid ongoing legal issues and health concerns.
Ray J pushed back on that account in comments to TMZ, denying he was suicidal. “I’m perfectly stable,” he said, while claiming Hasanoff had been “very aggressive” and that one of his teeth was loosened during the altercation.
“Hell yeah, I called 911,” he added, explaining she followed him after he left a hotel. Despite the heated exchange, he said, “We’re on good terms.”
Police responded to the residence but made no arrests, and both parties reportedly declined to file complaints. Authorities left after assessing the situation.
The incident comes months after another police response involving Ray J and his estranged wife, Princess Love. After Ray J announced that he may only have a few months to live, he and Princess Love appeared to put their differences aside, with her publicly supporting him in his time of need.
