Ray J is trying to clear the air with his sister, Brandy, after he went off on Ma$e and Shyne over resurfaced claims that they both allegedly dated her at the same time in the 90s.
“My bad B! – this apology is for you and ONLY YOU! – I was outta pocket. No spin, no extras. You’re my blood and I moved in a way that didn’t reflect your brand in a positive way!” Ray J wrote on Instagram this week. “I apologize for real, and I’m making sure my actions line up with respect moving forward.- I accept the repercussions of these actions!”
He continued, “I will always defend you and anybody in my family I truly love! – But I have to learn how to express myself in a respectful manner especially when you are involved! – I still don’t like none of those guys and what they did was janky AsF- but what I said was not ok – hopefully I can be apart of your world in the near future or 2027. And to my mom and dad I apologize too. Sincerely On tha dead homiez.”
Ray J publicly apologizes to Brandy (only) for how he defended her against Shyne:

On a recent episode of the It Is What It Is podcast, Shyne revisited past memories and suggested he once admired Brandy from afar before getting to know her. “This is my dream person. Brandy,” he said, recalling his rise from Brooklyn and early fame.
Brandy later addressed the viral claims head-on. “We did not date,” she said, calling their connection a “platonic friendship” from decades ago, but Shyne then doubled down on his statements.
“I spoke from a place of admiration and a place of reminiscing on my experience with her, which I didn’t care to highlight the negatives, it was only positive,” he told reporters. “I don’t know what is wrong with her.”
