Nicki Minaj is reportedly not expected to attend the 2026 Met Gala following her politically controversial year.
According to insiders, invitations have stopped altogether.
“Nicki’s invitations didn’t just slow down — they vanished,” one source told The Sun. “Hollywood stopped returning her calls.” The source added, “This isn’t subtle anymore. She’s been shut out.”
The reported change comes after a series of public appearances and statements that sparked conversation. During a December event, Minaj addressed her evolving views, saying, “It’s ok to change your mind.”
Sources also point to ongoing tensions tied to her industry relationships. “There’s no formal ban — just a collective step back,” an insider said. Another added, “Between the politics and the Roc Nation war, nobody wants to touch this.”
The 2026 Met Gala, set for May 4, will be led by Anna Wintour alongside co-chairs including Beyonce, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams.
The event’s theme, “Costume Art,” will explore the connection between fashion and the human body. Curator Andrew Bolton said the concept “privileges its materiality and the indivisible connection between our bodies and the clothes we wear.”
Minaj has not publicly addressed the reports.
