Camilla Believes Meghan Markle “Brainwashed” Prince Harry
A new book about the British royal family is stirring up drama again, this time with claims that Queen Camilla privately believes Meghan Markle “brainwashed” her husband Prince Harry.
The explosive claim comes from royal biographer Tom Bower, whose upcoming book Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family is already generating headlines before its official release.
According to excerpts from the book published in The Times, Bower claims Camilla once told a friend:
“Meghan’s brainwashed Harry.”
The author writes that concerns about Meghan’s influence were not limited to Camilla.
Bower claims Prince William and his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales were also uneasy about the former actress joining the royal family.
According to the book, the couple allegedly saw Meghan as “a threat rather than an ally.”
Long-Running Royal Rift
The claims revive the long-running tensions between Harry and the rest of the royal family.
Harry and Meghan married in 2018 before stepping down as senior working royals in 2020, a move that shocked the monarchy and led the couple to relocate to California.
Since then, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have frequently spoken publicly about their strained relationship with the royal family.
The couple now live in the United States with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Harry’s Team Fires Back
Prince Harry’s spokesperson responded strongly to the claims, dismissing the book and its author.
In a statement, the spokesperson said the commentary has crossed the line into conspiracy.
“Mr. Bower’s commentary has long crossed the line from criticism into fixation.”
The statement also accused the author of creating elaborate theories about people he has never met.
“Those interested in facts will look elsewhere; those seeking deranged conspiracy and melodrama know exactly where to find him.”
Buckingham Palace Stays Silent
So far, Buckingham Palace has declined to comment on the claims made in the book.
Representatives for Prince William and Princess Kate also have not publicly addressed the allegations.
With the book set to be released later this month, royal watchers expect even more controversial claims to emerge about the ongoing divide within Britain’s most famous family.
