Ebro Darden and Akademiks are trending online again after Ebro roasted the streamer during a recent episode of his new podcast.
During a recent broadcast of The Ebro Laura Rosenberg Show, Ebro and his co-hosts Peter Rosenberg and Laura Stylez reacted to remarks Akademiks has made about Ebro’s career, including claims about his time at Hot 97.
Rosenberg dismissed the idea as inaccurate. “That’s just not true,” he said.
At one point, Ebro accused Ak once again of being an alcoholic.
“Well, and he also just doesn’t have a social life… he can’t really go outside like that,” Ebro vented. “I think that’s sad. It’s sad that you’re like seen as like an alcoholic degenerate loser who can’t go out. Like, that hurts my feelings for you.”
Ebro went further, questioning the reliability of Akademiks’ commentary.
“You can’t talk about facts and then just throw things out there with nothing behind it,” he said during the discussion.
Ebro then suggested that some personalities in online media prioritize visibility over substance. “There’s a whole game built around attention,” he said. “People know what they’re doing when they say certain things.”
He also addressed how Akademiks is viewed in public spaces, revealing that perception can take on a life of its own. “When people start to see you a certain way, that sticks,” Darden said. “It becomes bigger than whatever you’re actually doing.”
“I’m talking about what’s out there,” he said. “Not trying to tear anyone down.”
