Desiigner has been arrested in South Carolina following a domestic incident that led to a misdemeanor charge.
According to police records, the 28-year-old artist, born Sidney Royel Selby III, was taken into custody on March 23 in Horry County and later released on a $1,500 bond. Authorities said the incident occurred on March 2 after officers responded to a domestic disturbance at his home near Conway.
A police report states that a woman told officers Selby arrived home upset and “threw his keys on the counter.” When she picked them up, he allegedly “grabbed them from her pocket,” tearing her clothing. The report further claims the situation escalated when he “threw her to the ground” near the front door.
The woman reported “minor scratch marks” on her arm and lower back. She also told police she had video of the altercation, but could not access it at the time. Selby had left the residence before officers arrived.
The case was later presented to a judge, who approved a charge of third-degree domestic violence.
This is not the first time Selby has faced legal trouble. In 2023, he was charged after an incident where he exposed himself on a flight, where he later said he was “ashamed” and took responsibility for his actions.
Selby has not publicly commented on the recent arrest.
