DJ Akademiks is reigniting his ongoing feud with radio personality Ebro Darden, continuing their years-long beef.
The latest back-and-forth began after Ebro reacted to Akademiks’ comments about media narratives surrounding Drake. During the online exchange, Ebro questioned Akademiks’ repeated calls for proof. “Evidence? This guy is asking for evidence?” he wrote, adding laughing emojis.
Akademiks quickly responded and brought up Ebro’s departure from Hot 97.
“Respectfully, you didn’t get pushed out by anyone,” he wrote. “You got fired because you weren’t entertaining.”
He continued by slamming Ebro’s relevance in the media landscape. “People saw your peak already,” Akademiks said. “Once that moment passed, the audience moved on.”
The streamer also accused traditional media voices of relying heavily on controversy tied to artists like Drake to stay in the conversation. “A lot of these media guys only get attention when they’re going against him,” he added. “After that, it fades.”

Ebro and Akademiks have traded jabs for years, with the Apple Music executive accusing Ak of building his brand on negativity.
Last year, Ak went off on Ebro for calling Drake a “sickness” in hip hop.
“These media n—as sound like hurt hes,” Ak wrote at the time. “N—as calling Drake a sickness… n—as acting like drake [f–ked their he]… half of these n—as just wanted a interview. its okay.. get the f–k over it. play ur game that these artists dont have to give u nun and u still win.”
“This goofy drunk and sick too. Pills, h*es and fast food. He will get it together one day, but …. We have all been lost in this game at some point,” Ebro clapped back on X.
