A Professor of Strategic Management and Human Capital Development, Okey Ikechukwu, has urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to deflate their egos if they want to participate in the 2027 general elections.

PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that Ikechukwu made the remark while speaking on the internal political wranglings ravaging the PDP and the recent Court of Appeal Court which dismissed the Taminu Turaki-led faction of the party.

In an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’ programme on Tuesday, Ikechukwu said the PDP does not have enough time for political games and must decide to bury the hatchet as suggested by the former Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

He said, “PDP members need to deflate their egos if they want to participate in the next elections.

“If they head to the Supreme Court, even with an accelerated hearing, we can’t tell when the case will end.

“They don’t have time for political games, but they have enough time if they want to take part in the next elections. And the way forward is simple.

“So what I think the PDP should do is what former Senate President Bukola Saraki has suggested; bury the hatchet. I think there’s no hatchet to bury.

“They should sit down and answer three questions; do we want to be part of this election as the strongest opposition party that can displace the APC? If the answer is yes, the next question is, what is it we are going to do? We must have candidates who must have campaigns.

“Assuming we deal with these two factors, what is the third one? How do we mobilize for elections? And that mobilization involves e-registration.”
