Wendy Williams Is Headed for a Massive Comeback in 2026 — Insiders Say Her Return to TV Is Already in Motion

Things are finally looking up for Wendy Williams, and if insiders are right, 2026 could be her biggest year yet.

Just one day after news broke that her daytime replacement Sherri Shepherd is being canceled after four seasons, Media Take Out has learned that producers are actively working on a plan to bring Wendy back to television.

And the timing could not be better.

Court Win Could Set Wendy Free Next Month

As Media Take Out previously reported, Wendy and her legal team recently scored a major victory in court. According to sources close to the situation, the ruling puts Wendy on track to be released from her mental health conservatorship as early as next month.

That legal breakthrough is the key piece that’s unlocking everything.

Once Wendy regains full control over her life and career, her team plans to move fast.

Debmar-Mercury in Talks for Wendy’s Return

Multiple insiders confirm to Media Take Out that Debmar-Mercury, the same production company behind The Wendy Williams Show, is already in high-level negotiations with Wendy’s team.

The goal? A triumphant return to daytime TV in the fall of 2026, right after Sherri’s show officially ends.

One source described the talks as “very real” and said both sides are motivated to make it happen.

“Wendy Can Do the Show Just Like Before”

Perhaps the most surprising part of all: insiders say Wendy is already back in work mode.

Media Take Out confirmed that Wendy has already taped several episodes of her new show at her apartment, testing out the format and proving she’s ready.

An insider close to the production told us:

“Wendy can do the show just like before, and she has a whole lot to say.”

Sources also say Wendy’s health has improved significantly and that she is mentally sharp, engaged, and eager to speak directly to her fans again.

Perfect Timing After Sherri’s Cancellation

The timing of Sherri Shepherd’s cancellation has only added fuel to the comeback narrative.

For years, fans have said daytime TV has been missing something since Wendy left. And now, with Sherri’s slot opening up and Wendy’s legal issues finally resolving, everything is lining up.

Industry insiders say networks see this as a rare opportunity: a beloved talk show host returning after a dramatic fall, legal battle, and public silence.

In other words… a ratings dream.

The Comeback Nobody Saw Coming

Just a year ago, Wendy was under conservatorship, off television, and many believed her career was over.

Now?

  • Court victory
  • Conservatorship ending
  • Sherri canceled
  • Debmar in talks
  • New episodes already taped

It’s the kind of comeback storyline Hollywood usually writes in scripts.

All Signs Point to a Wendy Renaissance

If negotiations continue on their current path, Wendy Williams could officially reclaim her throne as the queen of daytime talk by fall 2026.

And according to everyone close to her, she’s not coming back quietly.

She’s coming back with tea.

Stay tuned.
