A new suspect has been taken into custody in the terrifying armed robbery at Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Florida home, where the rapper’s mother was confronted by gunmen during a break-in last fall.
Authorities in Palm Beach County announced on Feb. 1 that 18-year-old Sergio Andrade was arrested following a warrant issued earlier this year. Police say Andrade is now facing a slate of serious felony charges, including armed home invasion, kidnapping and grand theft.
He becomes the second person charged in the case. Another suspect, Pedro Rodriguez, was arrested in December. Investigators believe both men were involved in the November incident at 6ix9ine’s Wellington property.
According to law enforcement records, the suspects allegedly surprised the rapper’s mother in the garage and held her at gunpoint while they searched through the home and a Mercedes Sprinter van parked on the premises. Officials say she was forced to stay outside as the robbery unfolded.
Although 6ix9ine was not at the house at the time, other relatives were reportedly staying in a separate guest area on the property.
Police also revealed that a third individual, seen on surveillance footage during the crime, has not yet been identified or arrested.
“This arrest represents meaningful progress in the investigation,” a law enforcement source said, adding that authorities are continuing to pursue additional leads as they work to bring all those involved into custody.
