Lil Jon and his family are asking for help as they search for his son, DJ Young Slade, who has been reported missing in Georgia.
The Milton Police Department issued a missing person alert on Feb. 3 for DJ Young Slade, whose legal name is Nathan Smith. According to authorities, the 27-year-old left his home on foot and did not have his phone with him.
“Subject ran out of his house and has been missing since. Subject left on foot and does not possess a phone. He may be disoriented and in need of assistance. Family and friends are concerned for his safety,” the police statement reads in part.
In a statement shared on Feb. 4, the Grammy winner and his family asked the public to keep them in their thoughts. “The family is asking for privacy at this time,” the statement read. “We are also asking for continued prayers for Nathan to come home safe.”
Police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and that Nathan has not yet been located.
Nathan has followed in his father’s creative footsteps, building a career in music under the name DJ Young Slade.
Lil Jon has previously spoken with pride about watching his son grow into his own as an artist. “I remember changing his diapers, he couldn’t even talk yet,” he once recalled. “Now he’s producing his own music.”
