Amber Rose is standing firmly by Nicki Minaj after the rapper declared her admiration for President Donald Trump, calling the moment “iconic” and defending Minaj’s right to speak freely about her political views.
Minaj recently appeared at the Trump Accounts Summit in Washington, D.C., hosted by Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. During her remarks, the “Starships” artist made her stance clear. “I don’t know what to say, but I will say that I am probably the president’s No. 1 fan,” Minaj told the crowd. “That’s not going to change.”
She continued, “And the hate or what people have to say does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more. We won’t let them get away with bullying him. God is protecting him.”
Rose, who has previously voiced support for Minaj, responded positively to the reaction surrounding the speech. The model and entrepreneur has long defended the rapper’s ability to express her beliefs without backlash. Speaking with TMZ in a past interview about Minaj’s political appearances, Rose said, “We live in a free country. She has the right to her own political opinion, just like everyone else does.”
When asked about Minaj’s comments regarding the queer community and criticism aimed at the Trump administration, Rose pushed back on assumptions. “Why does anybody think that anybody over there is homophobic?” she said. “I’m not homophobic. My assistant has been with me for eleven years, he’s black and gay.”
