*Family members of late council chairman returning from father’s burial

House of Representatives Member representing Gwoza/Damboa/Chibok Federal Constituency at the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly from Borno State, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Usman Jaha a.k.a Babawo has visited Chibok town to sympathise with the families of those who died as a result of flood disaster while returning back to Maiduguri after attending the burial of their patriarch late Hon. Dauda Pona.
Pona who was former Chairman of Chibok Government Area, died last week after a protracted illness and unfortunately, two of his twins grown -up sons, a daughter and grand child were again, among the flood victims who died on the spot, as a result of flood disaster and were also buried according to Christian rites in Chibok, while three passengers were rescued in a Volkswagen Sharon Bus they were travelling in.
While consoling with families, relations and people of Chibok community over the unfortunate incidents where ten (10) lives were lost, the Lawmaker commended Good Samaritans, especially Youths who made extra ordinary sacrifices to recover the remains of the victims.
He then proceeded to Damboa Local Government Area and also condole with family of one of the rescuers who coincidentally lost his life in trying to rescue the victims.
He then pray to Allah (God) to grant eternal rest to the souls of the deceased and the families bear the irreparable loss, even as he took the advantage and interacted with the communities and offer support financially to cushion their immediate hardships as a result of flood disaster.
It was gathered that, before visiting Chibok and Damboa, Hon. Babawo distributed food and non-food items to over 2,000 vulnerable people of Gwoza and other communities in his constituency.
