The Jaba Local Government Area (LGC) in Kaduna State is set to experience a significant economic boost as the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, is set to perform the groundbreaking ceremony of a modern custodian centre approved by the Federal Government.
During his expected visit to the Council, the grassroot political figure in the state will also be commissioning other projects, including a modern market, among others.
The centre, which will be established by the Nigeria Correctional Service, will provide state-of-the-art facilities for the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates.
According to the LGC Administrator, Hon. Mrs. Nita Byack George, the establishment of the custodian centre is a result of her recent visit to the Controller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service in Abuja.
The only female LG Boss in the State expressed delight that her efforts to attract federal government presence to the LGC are yielding positive results.
On his part, the leader of the delegation from the National Headquarters of the Nigeria Correctional Service, Superintendent Ajibade Oludare Sunday, explained that the centre will have an administrative block, school and skill acquisition centres, healthcare and sports facilities with cutting-edge facilities.
He emphasized that the centre is designed to provide improved conditions for inmates, with a focus on rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
The Administrator welcomed the delegation and expressed gratitude for the consideration of the LGC for the project.
She requested that citizens of Jaba LGC be considered for job opportunities in the centre, particularly in teaching, healthcare services, and artisanal works.
The team was taken on a tour of the current satellite custodian centre to highlight the need for a new and befitting facility.
They also visited the palace of HRH, Dr. Danladi Gyet Maude, the paramount ruler of Ham, to introduce the guests and seek his royal blessing for the project.
In response, the royal father thanked the LGC Administrator and the Kaduna State Government for facilitating the initiative, praying for its success as soon as possible.
The project is expected to create numerous job opportunities for the teeming population of Jaba LGC, particularly youths.
The establishment of the modern custodian centre is a significant milestone in the efforts of the Jaba LGC Administrator to attract federal government presence and boost the local economy, expected to have a positive impact on the socioeconomic status of the people of Jaba.
