Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has visited Maiduguri the Borno State Capital and donated one hundred (100) million naira on behalf of the Government and People of state to flood victims.
Governor Umaru Radda who led a high powered delegation on solidarity to Governor Babagana Zulum and People of Borno state according to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed arrived Maiduguri early this morning, September 18, 2024 and expressed condolences and support for victims of recent devastating floods.
“During the visit, Governor Radda presented a cheque of ₦100 million Naira to Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, the Executive Governor of Borno State, as a support from the people of Katsina to those affected by the floods,” the statement said.
Addressing Governor Zulum and other dignitaries present, Governor Radda said, “We are here to commiserate with you and the people of Borno State over the unfortunate flood incidence which has severely impacted social and economic activities in the state.”
He further emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “This is one of the most serious disasters that has affected our country, and Borno in particular.”
“We hope Almighty Allah will provide support, and we pray that we will not witness another such incident in any part of our country,” Governor Dikko Radda emphasized.
Responding to the solidarity visit and generous donation, the Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, and the entire people of Katsina State for the kind donation.
“This act of kindness in our time of need exemplifies the unity and brotherhood that exists among Nigerians. Your support will significantly aid our recovery efforts and bring relief to those affected by the floods,” Governor Zulum remarked.
Governor Radda was accompanied by a high-profile delegation including the Emir Of Daura His Royal Highness Alhaji Umar Faruq Umar, Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Right Honourable, Nasir Yahaya Daura; the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Jabiru Tsauri and Chairman Katsina
state Jama’atu Izalatul Bidi’a Wa Iqamatus Sunna (JIBWIS), Sheikh Yakubu Musa among others.
The visit marked the spirit of solidarity among Nigerian states in times of crisis and the commitment of the Katsina State Government to support fellow Nigerians in need.
